自然環境の保全について考える催し「生態系の中のヒトとして」が２４日、京都市下京区の京都産業会館で開かれた。環境問題に詳しい作家のＣ・Ｗ・ニコルさん(63)が講演し、生き物に恵みをもたらす森の大切さを訴えた。
京都弁護士会が主催する「憲法と人権を考える集い」の一環。人間の健康的な生活に欠かせない自然環境の保全を人権問題と位置づけ、長野県信濃町で森の再生運動に取り組むニコルさんを講師に招いた。
ニコルさんは「森の時間」と題して話し、信濃町で再生中の「アファンの森」を引き合いに、水や良質の建材、豊かな生態系など森の恵みを紹介した。具体的な再生方法にも触れ「日本人の１割が目覚めたら国が変わる」と呼びかけた。
弁護士で環境ＮＧＯ代表の浅岡美恵さんたちを交えた座談会もあり、スライドで「アファンの森」の現状と再生ぶりなども紹介された。
