総務省は3日までに、全国のまちづくりのモデルになる自治体の新規施策の事例集「地域政策の動向」をまとめた。2001年度から03年度の間に開始または予定の新規施策3787の中から代表的、先進的、特徴的な200事例を取り上げている。
真っすぐな角太めんを用いたユニークな焼きそばで商業・観光振興を図る秋田県横手市のＰＲ事業や職人養成事業、寒冷地ならではの氷を利用した農産物の出荷調整を図る北海道足寄町の氷雪エネルギー導入、地元の伝統的な食文化を楽しむスローフードなどで地域の自然資源を重視した長崎県森山町など、バラエティーに富んだ各地の取り組みを紹介している。
総務省は事例集を各地の振興策に役立ててもらうため、調査対象の3787施策を収録したＣＤ—ＲＯＭとともに全国の市町村に配布する。また財団法人地域活性化センターでも実費（事例集1500円、ＣＤ—ＲＯＭ1000円）で市販する。問い合わせは同センター企画調査課、０３（５２０２）６１３３。
