New Vitamin
５５年ぶり、新種ビタミンか アミノ酸の分解に関連
２４年前に米国で細菌から発見された物質ピロロキノリンキノン（ＰＱＱ）が、生体内でビタミンとして機能していることを、理化学研究所の笠原和起特別研究員らが確かめ、２４日付の英科学誌ネイチャーに発表した。
今後は世界保健機関（ＷＨＯ）などが人体での働きを検証する。国際的にビタミンと認められれば、１９４８年のビタミンＢ１２以降、５５年ぶり、１４番目の発見となる。
