a77a っちは、RedHat じゃなくって、インストールしなくても CD で起動できる Linux 「KNOPPIX」 っていうのを試して見たらいいんじゃないでしょうか？

HD には何もファイルをインストールせずに、ハードウェアを認識して起動して機能するようです。

いろんなアプリも入っています。

ダウンロードして iso を焼くだけです。

ダウンロード版は無料とはいえ、確かになんか違う方向に行ってるね。まあインストールはしやすくしてあるし、標準の構成はこれだ！っていうのを提示している点は評価できるんだけれどもね。
それでも Microsoft のよりは安いし。統合アプリケーション付きでの価格だから。コアな GNU/Linux ユーザーだったらダウンロードして自由にモジュールを選んで使うけれども、素人だったら仕方ないのかな。

まあ、グレーゾーンってことで。
