　デジタル化された動画像をインターネットで送受信する際、方式が異なるパソコンや携帯電話などの端末ごとにデータを自動変換する技術を三菱電機が開発した。端末別にデータを作り替える手間を省けるため、国際標準化機構（ＩＳＯ）などで協議中の統一規格に採用され、０３年末にも国際標準になる見通しだ。いつでもどこでも携帯端末にデータを呼び出せるブロードバンド（高速大容量）通信時代のカギを握る技術として、世界的に注目されそうだ。

　ネット上の動画像を圧縮する国際標準方式は「ＭＰＥＧ」（エムペグ）と呼ばれ、ＩＳＯなどは著作権管理などを徹底する新方式「ＭＰＥＧ２１」を協議中。三菱電機の新技術は、その一部に採用される見込みだ。

　いまのＭＰＥＧでも動画を配信できるが、画面の大きさやデータ量が違うパソコン、携帯電話、デジタルテレビ、携帯情報端末（ＰＤＡ）ごとに方式が異なる。各端末に対応できるようデータを自動変換する三菱方式では、データ発信者がすべての端末に単一データを配信できる。

　常時接続のＡＤＳＬ（非対称デジタル加入者線）など、ブロードバンド通信が普及するなか、様々な携帯端末で自由に動画などを送受信できる技術が求められていた。

いや、なんでもかんでもオープンソース／フリーウェアにしろとは言ってないよ。
本当にお金払う価値のあるものは払うし。バランスだよバランス。

そんなに沢山の機能を一台に盛り込んじゃって、
ひとりでいっぺんに操作で切るんだろうか？
実際の生中継とかって、最低でも２〜３人で編集したり
スーパー入れたりするものだと思ってたけど。
一台のPCは一度にひとりしか使えないじゃん。
そこが問題だ。
