Ｃａｔｅｇｏｒｙの設定や利用方法について整理・意見交換しましょ

今までの発言などを整理

■　カテゴリ分類が高次元に、かつ簡単に、できる、ところがボク的には楽しい。(by fuchi, from [なぜにblogはおもろいか？])

■　おれもカテゴリのポテンシャルの高さは感じる。使い方によって分類の網目がいろんな方向につながっていくところ（旧来の一対一から一対多のリンク）は情報の変な接続を起こしやすいし、そういったルースな意味の連鎖はあったほうがいいと。（過去のEntryで埋もれていったものをカテゴリつながりで引き上げたりできる（salvage）。えひめ丸思い出すな。(by @sushi, from [なぜにblogはおもろいか？] )

■　カテゴリーは、プルダウンメニューにした所で選びきれない数だと思う。
SUSHI編集長が整理してくれるとうれしいです(w 十個程度がプルダウンじゃなく見えてるのが理想的だと思うんだけどなー。(by go-you, from [XMLやRSSについてお勉強スレ])

■　カテゴリさ、３タイプのカテゴリ（各１０ずつくらい）にできないかな。いりぐちたくさんつくりたいから。図書館みたいな分類だけだとつまんなくない？(by fuchi, from [XMLやRSSについてお勉強スレ])

■　図書館的だとつまらないっていうのはあるけれど、一つのエントリーは複数のカテゴリーにまたがることができるんだよね。
そこがツリー構造じゃなくてデータベースなところ。マトリクス的。
（最新の図書館情報学はそういった方向にむかってるはずなんだけどね。）
そこを上手く利用して、一つのエントリーにカテゴリーを三つくらい組み合わせてつけて醸し出すのがいいと思うんだよね。ブリコラージュ式に。
レッシグの話題は、ネットと法律と政治と経済にまたがる、とか、ね。

そうすると、もともとのカテゴリー自体は、10〜20くらいで収めておいたほうが上手く行かないかな？少ない単語数で熟語を作る感じで。

だから、エントリーする時にカテゴリーをつける部分にプルダウンメニュー一つしかないけれど、あらかじめ三つくらい並べておいてもイイとさえ思う。そこはMT本体いじらないとめんどくさいけど。

あと、どっかのサイトで見たんだけど、カテゴリー別にアイコン表示されるやつ、いいよね。バナーとかも、＜＄MTカテゴリー名＄＞.JPG　みたいな感じでテンプレートに貼って。

■　便利さとファンキーさを選べと言われたら決まってんだけどね。
例えばさ、fuchiの言う3タイプのカテゴリってのともかぶるけど、「いつ・どこで・だれが・なにをした」（懐かしーｗ）的な構造をカテゴリに持ってきても、けっこうおもろいかもよ。それこそカテゴリの並び方に文法とかできちゃって変な熟語っつーか物語ｗみたいなものまでできちゃったりして。ｗｗ
一石五鳥くらいねらえるかも。

...ちょっと適当で無理あるけど（いじくってかえて）、こんなふうにいろんな観念のくっついた言葉散らばすとなんかどうやって世界が切り取られてるか、そのマトリックスが見えやすい。
だからカテゴリはシンプルにしすぎるより、ある程度多様性があったほうがおもろいと思うんだ。
今のカテゴリ設定のインターフェースだとちと厳しいかもしれないけど、将来的にカテゴリ設定の設計が柔軟にスピーディーに検索性や辞書機能と統合されていくような状況を考えると、こういったマトリックスの組み方はありだよね。(by @sushi, from [XMLやRSSについてお勉強スレ])

おれはよく人の立てたエントリに勝手に自分でカテゴリ多重串刺ししたりする。特に、「あー、あのスレどこだっけな」と思って探していて、思ったところになかった時など、付け足してみたり。
カテゴリ決めるのが楽しくなるようなカテゴリをつくっていきたいね。

カテゴリを多重に串刺しできれば、“変な熟語っつーか物語ｗみたいなものまでできちゃったりして”なことになるのは、機能としては実現できるんだし、そういう使い方したい人もいるから、選べるようにすればいいんじゃないの。これからさ、アーカイブって、自分のとこのサーバのデータとかって仕切りが関係無くなって、XMLとかRSSとか使ってP2Pのdata poolみたくなってくじゃんたぶん。
weblogはその進行中の前触れヒコバエな気がするのね。
だからさ　いっぱい　カテゴリ　触れて　高次元の　無限スポンジみたいな
ほうが　おもしろい　はず

さて、そのシステムの一部であるカテゴリのお話です。
カテゴリは何の為にあるのでしょう？　安易な私の脳は言います。
1.「知りたいことを多くの物の中から、素早く探すために」
この場合、引出しにしまってある過去ログを検索するという行為を助けるためにあると言えます。
それには適当なカテゴリ名と適当なカテゴリ数を割り当ててやる必要があります。
何かを探すという時、ツリー構造はその為に最適なデザインを提供できます。

2.「このカテゴリの中になんかおもしろいもんないかしら？」と見てみる時に
これは偶然の出会いを求めるあなたの使い方です
カテゴリ名とそこに入るスレッドの関係はそのblogの特徴を決める大きなポイントになるでしょう。

3.「エントリの際にカテゴリを指定することによって、そのスレの方向性を決める」
少し例外的な使い方ですのでコメントは割愛させていただきます

1.はそのblogを使ってる人。　2.はあまり使ってない人、もしくは外部の人。　と分けることができると思います。
どちらを優先するか、もしくは両立させるかの選択はblogの方向性を決めるポイントになるでしょう。
いろんな事を試してみるのが完成への近道だと思います
