254個いりのパネルスピーカでサラウンド

パイオニアが，1枚の平面パネル上に設置した254個のスピーカを用いて、複数のスピーカを設置しなくてもマルチチャネルサラウンド環境を構築できるスピーカ「PDSP-1」を発表した。 (プレスリリース) 。
254個のスピーカユニットのそれぞれから、指向性をもたせた音声をビーム状に放射し，その音声を壁や天井に反射させる事でサラウンドを実現するという方式。この方式を開発したのは英国の 1Limited社 で、 日本語のカタログ(PDF) を公開している。
