PeerCast opens the source
PeerCast が、ソースコードを ＧＰＬでオープンにしました。
開発者のGiles Goddard（すごい名前ｗ）さんは、京都にお勤めだそうで、任天堂のゲームのプログラムなんかをしてるみたいです。
Goddard氏曰く、
「先進的なオンライン音楽配信技術を規制する人々が、前進するインセンティブをもたないという現状がある。もし奴らができないんだったら、我々が行ってやるまでだ．」

peercastとはちがうけどね、MITの学生が音楽データをアナログに変換してCATVのネットワークで流すことで合法的に学内に音楽配信できるようにしたらしい。
