NeotenyのひらたさんのBlogに日本語化のための修正のポイントがのってた。

★　mt.cfg の PublishCharset を Shift_JIS に変更 (2.51からできた)
★　lib/MT/default-templates.pl の "iso-8859-1" を "Shift_JIS" に変更(11個所)
★　styles.css ほかスタイルシートのフォントの設定を変更 (MacOS IE対策)
★　extlib/CGI.pm の 376行目 "ISO-8859ー1" を Shift_JIS に変更

となっていたので、各ファイルの該当部分に直しを入れたんだけどまだだめね。（スタイルシートのフォントの設定がまだよくわからない...）

ってあって、全部試したんだけど、この「インストール時に」「実行前」っつーのがポイントなのか?

日本語が化ける問題自体は、MTのシステム的なものというより、多分こっちの設定の問題だと思う。
Joiの日本語サイトのソース見てみたらちゃんと日本語でみれた。
Dejimahのソースを見たら、日本語の部分はやっぱ意味不明なコードになっているから、たぶんこっちの問題でしょう。う〜ん。

解決というわけではないけど、エントリを修正するときの裏技：

ブラウザでエントリを表示させる（EditではなくてView modeで）

文章をコピー

Edit Entryに行って、Entryを入力するフィールドにCopyした文章をペースト

日本語でペーストされるので、修正しやすい

とりあえず、こうすればなんとかなりそうス
